Pan Am

Thanks for the post from Shad Blake

I like this new show called Pan Am. It is so fun to watch on Direct TV because of all the costumes and sets and cars and every little detail down to the kind of cigarettes they smoke is straight out of the sixties. I love watching the show just to see what outfits they will wear this week. The other thing that I find so fascinating about this show is how the characters look at things. There are things that we would not think twice about but back then they were a really huge deal. Like when the daughter breaks down in tears in her wedding dress on the floor before she is about to walk down the aisle. She decides that she doesn’t really want to get married and she wants to run off to join the stewardesses on Pan Am instead. Her mother is horrified that she would want to go work instead of staying home and getting married. This cracks me up because these days mothers would rather their children go off to work or better yet college straight out of high school instead of getting married so young.
